This is some serious cleansing of the land. Just when we were still analysing the resignation of five senior Customs officers on Thursday, the service has disclosed that another 29 senior personnel have been retired giving re-organization in Nigeria Customs Service as the reason.

The retirement of the 29 officers now brings the total number to 34 senior Officers retired from the service with immediate effect.

In a statement made by Wale Adeniyi, the Public Relations Officer, “The re-organization of the Service is one of the core mandates of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd)… the retirements were part of measures to kick-start the repositioning of the Service for improved performance.”
