There are things you use every day which you may think are clean but aren’t. Those things you think are clean might be filled with germs which are automatically harmful to your health. Here is a list of those items and how to keep them germs free.
YOUR CAR’S WINDSHIELD
Researchers have discovered that Legionella, a certain form of bacteria that can cause a serious form of pneumonia is found on car windshields. They revealed that the vapor from tainted fluid could enter your car’s air vents and then your lungs. To prevent that, they advised to use a solution with methanol since it has antibacterial properties.
Your used underwear is dirty but so is everything you wash after them. One load of underwear could leave 100 million germs behind in your washing machine, contaminating your next cycle. Spin up the water temperature in your washing machine to between 140 and 150 degrees to kill the germs.
YOUR NEW CLOTHES
Researchers found evidence of skin flora, feces, and respiratory secretions. You should wash your new clothes in hot water before wearing them and wash your hands after shopping.
YOUR CAR’S DASHBOARD
Researchers say the dashboard is the second germiest spot in your car right after food spill spots. The air conditioning and heater blow germs into your car and they breed under the heat from the sun. Wipe it down weekly with a disinfectant.
CONTACT LENS CASES
Research suggests 34 percent of contact lens cases examined were packed with germs which can cause inflammatory eye disease that damages your cornea and can even cause blindness. Always pour out used solution and rinse your case with hot water each day and replace it every three months.
It’s important to pay attention to these things that seem minor but end up having grave implication. Let’s all stay clean to stay healthy.
