The Chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Tony Elumelu has described Wednesday’s building collapse in Lagos State as saddening.

DD News reported building which houses a school collapsed at Ita-Faji area of Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre.

Many persons have been reported dead with several others wounded in the incident.

While reacting to the development, the Chairman of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) prayed for those who were affected.

Deeply saddened by yesterday’s Ita-Faji School building collapse and the avoidable loss of life of these innocent ones,” a message on his Twitter handle read.

“Praying for those affected 🙏🏼 #LagosBuildingCollapse #LagosIsland.”
